In the vast expanse of our world, amid its complexities and diversities, lies an innate desire for unity—a yearning that transcends the boundaries of faith, culture, and geography. It's a longing deeply rooted in the human soul, nurtured by seeds of compassion and inclusiveness sown within the fabric of our existence. For many, this longing finds resonance within the walls of a “church”, where faith intersects with the tangible realities of life, and where communities gather to seek solace, guidance, and connection.

My own journey of faith and purpose took a significant turn after a month of deep discernment. The path to becoming an Episcopal Priest, once felt as my destined journey, shifted as an epiphany emerged through prayer, meditation, and reflection.

This revelation led me to reevaluate my calling and unearth a newfound passion—a passion ignited by our mission with Projectlagniappe.org, Charlotte's Table, and the "Making ALL Greener Again" challenge at The Peaceful Kingdom Farms.

The beginning of our vision took root amidst the lively atmosphere of the Farmer's Market in State College, Pennsylvania. Serendipitous encounters sparked conversations about our interconnections and the shared responsibility we hold towards our planet. Here, amid the bustle of commerce and community, the seeds of our vision for a welcoming and inclusive church were planted. These seeds were nurtured by a collective desire to bridge divides and foster a sense of belonging—a vision that transcends the confines of traditional faith paradigms.

Our vision is clear and profound: to establish a place where all are embraced, regardless of their spiritual background or beliefs. It's a sanctuary where individuals can freely explore their faith, engage in meaningful dialogue, and find support on their spiritual journey. Together, we commit to embodying the principles of love, compassion, and stewardship—not only towards each other but also towards the Earth and all its inhabitants.

Central to our vision is the principle of belonging. My husband Michael and I have been blessed to connect with students from Pennsylvania State University, representing diverse spiritual backgrounds from around the world. Their presence enriches our community and reinforces our commitment to belonging. In these spontaneous connections, I am reminded of Michael's oft-repeated words: "Love conquers everything."

Drawing inspiration from sacred texts, we anchor our mission in scriptures that emphasize stewardship and unity. In Genesis 2:15, we are reminded of our role as stewards of the Earth, entrusted with its care and cultivation. Revelation 4:11 extols the Creator's sovereignty over all things, affirming our interconnectedness with the cosmos. Proverbs 12:10 underscores the importance of compassion towards all living beings, while Ephesians 1:8-10 speaks of the divine plan to unify all creation under the mantle of love. Psalm 95:5 celebrates the majesty of creation, recognizing the Creator's hand in shaping the world.

These scriptures serve as guiding lights, illuminating our path towards a more harmonious existence—a path marked by compassion, stewardship, and unity.

As we embark on this journey, we extend an open invitation to all who resonate with our vision of unity and stewardship. Whether you come from a place of faith, doubt, or curiosity, know that you are embraced with open arms. Together, let us sow the seeds of compassion, nurture bonds of friendship, and cultivate a community where all are cherished members of the human family.

If you feel called to join us in this endeavor, we invite you to reach out to us at mikeandseamus@thepkfarms.com or projectlagniappe@gmail.com. Your support, whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading the message of love and inclusiveness, is deeply appreciated.

In closing, we urge you to remember the profound words of Mahatma Gandhi: "Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Let’s all work together and make our world a better place!

Do an act of kindness for a stranger!

Together, let's cultivate unity, foster compassion, and envision a world where faith and farming converge in the pursuit of peace.
